But back to thebigboys, theCrossover
8000’s four-sectionmainboomoffers a
126-foot lengthwith a189-footmaximum
tipheight. Two available jibdesigns –
fixed lengthof 33 feet and extendable to
57 feet –offer 0, 15 and30degreeoffset
positions, providing reachwhen lifting
over objects.
New at ConExpo
Alsonewon theConExpoblockwere
Manitowoc’sNational boom trucks. The
largestNationalCrane ever built, the
newNationalCraneNBT60, and the
newNationalCraneNBT15 serieswere
displayed for the first time at the trade
show.
“For thesenewNationalCranemodels,
we asked customerswhat they really
wanted andneeded,” saidRubenOlivas,
global product director for truck cranes,
boom trucks and carrydeck cranes at
Manitowoc. “This voiceof the customer
collaboration resulted inboom trucks that
will trulymeet thedemands of themarket,
whether its size, capacity, liftingpower,
maneuverabilityor other advancednew
features.”
ThenewNBT60 is thebiggest crane
inNationalCrane’shistory. This 60-ton
capacity crane features a128-foot, five-
section, full-power boom, the longest in
its class.A26 to45-foot, two-section,
offsettablemanual extension is also
available for the crane.
Evenwith the larger sizeof theNBT60,
Olivas said the crane is still roadable like
