The closest major airport is Birmingham
International Airport, which is approximately
23 minutes by car from the Ricoh. Stansted
Airport is 1 hr 50 min, Luton Airport 1 hr 10
min, Heathrow 2 hr, London Gatwick 2.5 hr and

ow in its 8th year the 2014 Executive Hire
Show continues to grow, with 131 exhibitors,
including 38 companies either returning to
the event or participating for the first time.
The line-up includes most of the big name suppliers
to the UK rental industry, and some major suppliers
who are attending the show for the first time, most
notably Kubota.
There will be lots of new machines on show, with
the following a selected guide to what will be new in
Coventry:
Kubota, which is exhibiting at the EHS for the very
first time, will showcase a wide range of products,
including the new KX080-4, with a Stage IIIB engine.
Takeuchi returns to the show after a year out and
will be showing its most recent arrival, the TB216 Cab,
the replacement for the well established 1.5 t TB016.
Hybrid Access Platforms, established a year ago to
distribute products from US manufacturer Custom
Equipment, will display additions to its push-around
and self-propelled compact scissor lift range.
Morris Site Machinery will showcase its recently
launched SMC Solar-2 Lighting Tower, which can be
powered by battery, mains or solar power, offering
up to 50 hours on a single charge and up to 100 when
supplemented with solar power.
Etesia UK will officially launch its multi-purpose
electric barrow, which can be fitted with wheels or
tracks, carries 300 kg and climbs 30° slopes.
Peli Products UK will be showing its portable
battery-powered lighting systems, ranging from self-
contained units to tripod mounted versions.
Recycling power
Angry Bear will showcase the Combo 300, a new
award winning compact machine that both crushes
and shreds material for recycling and also powers a
huge range of site tools.
Getting its first public airing will be a new Altrad
Belle electric plate compactor, the PCEL380E, with
zero exhaust emissions.
On show in public for the first time in the UK at EHS
will be the new Bomag tamper range, the BT 60, BT
65 and BVT 65, all three powered by Honda engines.
Hamm will be exhibiting two models from its HD
CompactLine, the HD 8VV and the HD 12 VV.
Japanese mini-excavator specialist Hanix will show
two models from its new D-series, the H09D micro and
the H17D mini.
Another mini will be on the Ammann stand – the
new Yanmar 2.6 t SV26, which was launched at Bauma
last year.
Himoinsa will show gensets designed for the UK
hire market, including the 20 kVA HRYW-20 T5 and the
100 kVA HRFW-100 T5, both with Stage 3a compliant
engines.
Mace Industries will show its conveyor machines,
including the Bumpa and Shifta, as well as the Supa
Screen, a portable screen for soils and aggregates.
Higher Concept Software highlights the latest
addition to its Syrinx hire and asset management
software and launches a new Android App.
JCB shows its new 8014 CTS mini excavator, a
conventional tailswing model which has been added
to JCB’s compact line-up.
Tower Light UK displays its new generation of
lighting sets, entitled ‘The Green 3’, comprising the
VT-Hybrid, the VB9 and the LinkTower.
The Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) holds
an ‘outreach meeting’ for the Strategic Forum Plant
Safety Group and will discuss three topics, Operator
Competence for Telehandlers, Ground Conditions, and
MEWPs and Crushing.
The show promises to be a lively one, and there is
a special added attraction this year, with The Hire
Supply Company offering visitors to its stand the
chance to win £10000 for themselves or a charity of
their choice. To win, all visitors need to do is crack the
six digit code on the HSC safe.
Gary McWilliam, managing director of Hire Supply,
says; “We wanted to do something bigger and better
than we had ever done before...You crack the code
and the £10k is yours! No Stethoscopes or X-Ray’s
allowed, just safe cracking skills!”
