RENTAL PRODUCTS PRESSURE WASHERS
To meet demand from North
and Central America and Japan,
Italian manufacturer Idrobase
has developed a new range of
60 Hz pressure washers. The 60 Hz
models are available as cold or hot water
versions and comprise a selection of Idrobase’s most
popular existing models, including the Stella and Principessa
hot water units and the Libera, Transformer and Coccinella
units. The pictured Transformer is a 1750 rpm, 150 -200 bar,
cold water machine.
This BDG 3045 cold water pressure washer is one of four new
belt-drive washers from Steam Jenny, a division of Jenny
Products in Pennsylvania, US. The company says belt-drive
units are designed for heavy duty use with a longer pump
life than direct-drive units. The pulley system “turns the
pump significantly slower than if the pump was coupled with
the engine crankshaft“, says the company, “Additionally,
the belt absorbs engine vibration and allows the pump to be
located further away from the engine heat.“ The pressure
washers are powered by 9 hp (6.7 kW) or 13 hp (10 kW) Honda
GX engines, with pressure ratings between 3000 and 4000 psi
(206 to 275 bar), and flow rates from 3 to 4 gpm (11 –
15 l/min). The pictured BDG 3045 is a 13 hp model.
Rental friendly pressure washers and bower washers are
under the spotlight this month, with news from Brendon
Powerwashers, Idrobase, Eurogate/Fuel Proof, Morris
Site Machinery and Steam Jenny.
Meanwhile, brothers Chris and Rob Hendy – export
sales director and export technical sales – were
surprised recently during a Construction Equipment
Association (CEA) trade mission to Mongolia when
they spotted one of their washers at a mine in the
southern Gobi desert.
“The main reason that we went on this mission was
that three years previous we had supplied some units
to a mining company in the Gobi Desert“, said Chris
Hendy, “and from this we felt that there must be a
market for well-engineered, robust equipment.
“The trip to the Gobi Desert part was particularly
of interest to myself and Rob as potentially we could
actually see a Brendon in the Gobi. Following the visit
to the mine we had a ‘wow‘ moment as we discovered
one of our bowserwashers on site!“
R
amirent in Finland has added Brendon
HWBBW35KLN+ES diesel powered hot water
bowserwashers to its rental fleet after trials
conducted over the winter of 2012.
Brendon says the HWBBW is quite different from
conventional pressure washers because it has a
removable heater module that uses a glycol mixture
to heat the water via a low pressure multi-plate heat
exchanger. The low pressure means that there is no
need for annual boiler safety insurance inspections.
The machine is suited to colder climates and is
totally autonomous, says the company. With 700
litres of water capacity, it can be used for 1 hour
continuously at full pressure and at temperatures up
to 78 degrees centigrade.
Depending on the model, working pressures of up to
350 bars and a choice of diesel or petrol engines and
tank colours are available.

Fuel Proof gets Euro distribution
washer designed to suit European rental markets. It
has a tough, rotationally moulded polyethylene tank
(1140 litre capacity) and heavy duty galvanised steel
chassis.
The twin axle design and ‘baffled’ tank provide
stability when in transit, and each unit is fitted with
a Honda GX390 petrol engine, providing more power
and lower noise, emissions and fuel use than its
predecessor. A Yanmar diesel version is also available.
Other features include a Turbo lance for extra high
pressure cleaning, in addition to the standard lance
for general use. The unit has EU compliant road
lightings and three lifting eyes for lifting and moving
on site. The 20 m hose reel comes as standard.
Fuel Proof, based in Morecambe, Lancashire,
produces fuel cubes, generator tanks, fuel stores,
highway bowsers, site bowsers and bulk diesel tanks.
Morris Site machinery makes a range of pertrol and diesel
Hilta pressure washers, with Yanmar engines in the diesel
units (pictured here) and Honda for the petrol models. Phil
Winnington, managing director of Morris Site Machinery said:
“We have seen a rise in demand for our pumps and power
washers in recent months, with a 60% increase in demand
for power washers in particular. ”
Bowsers, fuel stores and tanks manufactured by UK
company Fuel Proof are now being market to rental
companies in mainland Europe by Pieter Jansen’s
EuroGate International business.
