Shanghai preview
a wide range of its aerial work platforms (AWPs) on show,
and also planned to launch several newmachines. It said new
introductionswould include the IPM100J electric self-propelled
platform, designed for indoor work innarrow spaces.
It said the new model could fold down to 2.69 m tall and
0.99mwide, and had a working height of 10m and a working
radius of 3.2m. Built from alloy steel, the IPM100J is said tobe
light and strong, and comes equipped with a double DC drive
with high torque reducer. Mantall said the advantages of this
included low input power, high output torque, fast travel speed
and good climbing ability.
Genie will also be exhibiting new access equipment on
the Terex stand, including the introduction of the SX-180
telescopic boom lift. Featuring a 54.9 m vertical reach and
24.4mhorizontal reach, the newmodel has beendesigned for
high-reach access jobs.
It boasts a2.44mby0.91mplatformwith a340kg capacity,
and also features a retractable X-Chassis for both stability on
the job and a narrow profile for transport.
The boom lift’s stowed dimensions are 3.05 m high, 2.5 m
wide and 12.98 m long. Genie said the 24.5 tonne machine
required no over width or over height permits allowing it to be
easily transported on a truck.
Scott Krieger, senior product manager for booms and
telehandlers atTerexAerialWorkPlatforms said, “This
X-chassis design is also used on our newGenie
ZX-135 articulating boom.This allows our big
booms to sharemany design features providing
parts and operating commonality.”
AndRunsharesaid itwouldshowcase twoboom liftsatBauma
China - thenew21.7mworkingheightGTZZ20A,whichhas
a lift capacity of 230 kg and is powered by a Cummins diesel
engine, and the GTZZ14D, which is an electrical/battery
powered articulated boomwith a 15.5mworking height and
230 kg capacity. Both machines are said to feature automatic
levelling technology.
So therewill beplenty to see atBaumaChina, andwith some
3,000 exhibitors expected, this is just a small snapshot of some
of the newmachines that will be launched. As ever, the best
