BAUMACHINA
Shanghai preview
Diaphragm wall machines will be represented by the best-
selling GB 46 standard model and the GB 60, which offers a
maximum depth of 80m.The grabs are equipped with special
features such as a turning device and a flap steering system for
maintaining verticality.
An interesting new productmeanwhile is a ‘rescue rig’, which
is the fruit of a joint development programme between Bauer
and its subsidiary Prakla, whichmakes deep drilling rigs for the
oil and gas industry. The RB-T 90 is designed as a standby rig
that can be used in case of emergencies inmines to drill rescue
shaft and evacuate trapped personnel.
Liebherr will display a range of machines from across
its portfolio on its outdoor stand. These will include large
excavators, including the 110 tonne R 9100miningmachines,
wheeled loaders such as the 5m
3
bucket L 580 and 37 tonne A
934Cmaterial handler.
Cranes on show will include the LTM 1300-6.3 six-axle
mobile crane, whichwas unveiled to theworld at the lastBauma
exhibition inMunich inApril 2013.This innovative
machine uses a single engine, rather than the usual
dual-engine design for large all terrain cranes, and
offers a 78mmain boom and 300 tonnes of lifting
capacity.
Comansa Jie, a subsidiary of Linden Comansa in
China, will be launching a new tower crane at the
show. Althoughdetails have yet tobe revealed, the companyhas
said the new cranewill be erectedon a 4.5m folding cross-base.
A slewing part, with the hoisting and slewing winches, will be
also exhibited at ground level and demonstrations of themodel
will be carried out by remote control at the show.
Comansa Jie has also announced plans to expand its Chinese
factory inHangzhou by 38,000m2 .
Meanwhile Manitowoc will launch two new Potain flat top
tower cranes at Bauma China. The Potain MCT 205 has a
10 tonne capacity and can lift 1.75 tonnes at the end of its
maximum jib length of 65 m. The complete upper works can
be assembled in four lifts. In addition, the full 65m jib can be
placed in a single lift. For easy transport three jib sections fit
inside a standard container.
The second new flat top crane on showwill be theMCT 85.
Themodel has a 5 tonne capacity and can lift 1.1 tonnes at the
end of its 52 mmaximum boom. Again, ease of transport has
been a consideration, with the entire top portion of the crane
able to be carried on two trucks. For easy assembly, the tower
crane’s upper works can be connected in two sections.
TheMCT 85 can be operated as an internal climbing crane.
It ismounted on 1.2mmast sections and has amaximum free-
standing height of 33.2 m. Both models are manufactured at
the company’s Zhangjiagang, China plant.
Sany has made a splash at Bauma China in the past with
some enormous cranes. The models announced for exhibition
at Bauma China are small in comparison, but they will still be
significantmachines.
The STC2200 is a 200 tonne capacity truck cranewith a 68m
main boom and 36m luffing jib.
Meanwhile the SAC6000 is a 600 tonne capacity all-terrain
crane on an eight-axle chassis with a 90m, seven-sectionmain
boom.Themaximum liftingheight is 136mwith an additional
jib, and the crane is aimed at the wind turbine market where
Sany says it could life an 80 tonne nacelle – about 2MW – to
a height of 80m.
In the crawler crane segment, the 135 tonne capacity
SCC1350E will be on display, which offers an 80 m main
boom. The unit breaks down into modules weighing no more
than 32.8 tonnes, andmeasuring 3m or less in width for ease
of transportation, and Sany says it can bemoved in five vehicle
loads.

Platforms from across the Skyjack range will be on show on
the company’s stand, including two electric scissors from the
DC range – the SJ III 3219 and the SJ III 4632, which boast
working heights of 7.8m each.
Skyjack’s largest articulating boom, the
SJ 63AJ, will also be displayed, with a
working eight of 21.4m, while the SJ 16
