BACK PAGE
This month’s photo was taken by Ian Tindale. It shows an extreme wide angle “fisheye” view of a goliath
crane on Oxford Street in London, UK, being used in the construction of the new Crossrail rail line. The 40
tonne double girder goliath crane was manufactured in the UK by industrial crane and hoist manufacturer
Street Crane. The crane has a double girder box beam design with twin TVX hoists, each capable of lifting
20 tonnes. The crane is being used to lift spoil skips and to lower tunnel segments and other pre-cast
concrete tunnel elements. The crane helped in the excavation of more than 35,000 cubic metres of material
over a period of six months.

Cargotec has appointed
ERIC NIELSEN
as president of
MacGregor business area. Prior
to his appointment, Nielsen
was executive vice president of
corporate development at Joy
Global, a supplier of mining
equipment. He has also held
senior executive positions in
Terex Corporation and Volvo
Construction Equipment. In
his new role Nielsen will be
a member of the executive
board and will report to Mika
Vehviläinen, president and CEO.

at MacGregor
is
DECLAN
GUERIN
, who
has been
appointed
to the position of chief
financial officer. Prior to his
new appointment Guerin was
vice president, mergers &
acquisitions. Guerin has worked
for Cargotec since 2007. He will
be responsible for accounting,
finance and M&A activity.

Manufacturer of radio remote
controls, Scanreco, based in
Sweden, has made changes to
its sales team. The company has
appointed
MIKAEL NILSSON
as
export manager and
MARTIN
WESTERLING
as sales area
manager. Prior to these roles,
Nilsson was export manager
at Åkerströms and Westerling
was sales manager at Datek.
Both companies manufacture
radio remote controls.

USA. Prior to his new role, Geisler
has held several sales and service
roles. He has more than 10 years
of experience
in the trailer
industry and
has worked with

in Illinois, and
Vanguard National Trailer Corp
in Indiana.
