EVENTS DIARY
This issue’s Picture of the Month
was taken by IC reader Søren
Jansen. The photo was taken
in September 2013. It shows
a Coles 615 S rough terrain
wheeled mobile telescopic crane
in the old section of the Port
of Copenhagen in Denmark. A
small group of boat and engine
repair businesses are still active
there and Jansen reports that the
crane is still in service.

BLAKE
, CEO

Ritchie Bros,
will step down
in May 2014 after a decade in
the role. The company said
Blake will remain as CEO in
the interim as it searches for
a replacement. Blake joined
Ritchie in 1991 and has been
CEO since 2004. Under his
leadership the company has
grown, and now has operations
in more than 25 countries,
including 44 auction sites. “I
have decided that the time is
right for a new CEO to lead
Ritchie Bros into the exciting
next phase that is ahead,”
Blake said.

Crane repair and
refurbishment specialist Wheco
in the USA, has appointed
JOHN
WILLIS
as the new division
manager for the Aiken, South
Carolina, facility. Prior to his
role Willis was operations
manager at
Wheco.
“We are
excited to have
John back
on the team,”
a company
spokesperson said.

to his wedding venue
at the Malton Registry Office in
North Yorkshire, UK. The surprise
for Mark was organised by his
bride to be
LIZ PENFOLD
, who
asked Richardson to help out
with the wedding transport
as a special favour to Mark
for his help as the company’s
banksman. Robinson said, “It
was a complete surprise to me
and it was absolutely fantastic
and we attracted quite a bit of
attention along the way from
York. It’s not often that you
see a crane bedecked in
wedding ribbons.”
