WHATMOTIVATES YOU TO GET UP AND
COME TOWORK EVERY DAY?
It’s a joy to come towork andbewith
your family everyday. But youhave to
learnnot to take yourworkhome–
not tohave every family get-together
endup talking aboutwork.One of
the things I learned in amanagement
class in college– a gentleman toldus:
“Seventypercent of thepeople in this
countrydislike their jobs. If you find a
job that you like, relish it, be thankful for
it, because you’re in rare company.” I’ve
always enjoyed going towork–whether
itwas in farming equipment, Rigging
Gear Sales or evenback in thehamburger
days.
WHAT’S LIFE LIKE FORBRUCE FORSTER
WHENHE’SNOTWORKING?
I enjoymy grandkids tremendously.
Being that everybodyworks here at RGS,
I get to see them regularly– so that’s a
positive joy. Theyplay sports anddo
different things, so I love that.Myother
thing is, and folkswill laugh at this, but
I am anold, frustrated farmer.Mykids
grewupon a farm; I grewupon a farm.
I do a tremendous amount of gardening
– growingmuchmore thanwe could
ever eat. Sowe take vegetables to all of
the facilities –we give away a lot of food.

in the fall.My grandkids and I grow all
the pumpkins for that. I really enjoy the
outdoors, nature.
WHAT GIVES YOU CAUSE FOR OPTIMISM IN
2015 FOR SC&RA AND ITSMEMBERS?
I think it’s a continuationof trying
toplow through the regulations, the
insurancehurdles, and such. I don’t have
a specific initiative for the year, but I do
think it’s about continued vigilance for
our industry. If I have apersonal vision,
it’s tobringmore internationalmembers
to the association.
