production space has really about designing
new products – with a range now available, the
new factory will allow the company to focus on
increasing volumes.
The company was quick to see export
opportunities – exporting its first booms to Peru
in 2009 – and now there is a rough 50/50 split
between domestic and export sales.
Zu shares the widely held view that China will
one day be a larger rental and access market,
but for the moment he points to low labor rates
and ingrained habit of using scaffolding as
the main obstacles to use of powered access
equipment.
“I’m very confident about the future
development of the market – labor costs will

The 46-foot unit is mounted on a Chinese-

Runshare is a company to watch. If the move
to the new facility goes to plan, then Sinoboom,

Genie Lift Pro
™
online safety training
is the easiest way to provide high-
quality, consistent training.
Providing the the Genie Lift Pro course delivers
add-on sales, but the big benefit is that it frees
up your people to focus on selling and service.
Operators go online and take the course when it’s
convenient to them. Then they come in and take
a short quiz to be qualified so they can rent your
aerial equipment. The quality is there because Lift
Pro is from Genie, but it’s applicable to all brands
of aerial equipment.
