Link-Belt announces
promotions: Collins,
Knight and Smoot
Pat Collins
has been
promoted
to director
of product
marketing for
Link-Belt. Collins is responsible
for product management and
reports to Bill Stramer, vice
president, marketing, sales
and customer support. The
promotion is part of a new
organizational structure for
the wheeled and crawler crane
manufacturer’s expansion
into new and emerging
markets domestically and
internationally.
Collins has been at Link-Belt
for more than 30 years, starting
in the service organization
at the Cedar Rapids, IA,
facility. He was district service
representative in the Rocky
Mountain region.
“Pat is well prepared to take
on this new challenge with
his vast experience within our
marketing, sales and customer
support organization,” Stramer
said.
Scott
Knight
has
been promoted
to product
manager for
lattice and
telescopic crawler cranes.
Knight is now responsible
for current and new product
development for both product
lines. A graduate of Eastern
Kentucky University, Knight
began his career with Link-Belt
in 2007 as a product specialist
for lattice and telescopic crawler
cranes.
Pat Collins, director, product
marketing, said, “Scott has been
deeply involved in every phase
of marketing our products,
from new product concept
to field research including
voice of the customer, trade
show planning and setup,
customer support issues and
plant visits. Scott also played
a key marketing role in the
development and introduction
of our highly successful TCC-
750, subsequent telescopic
crawler and lattice crawler
models. His hard-earned and
highly regarded reputation with
both distributors and customers
will make this transition into
his new role successful and
seamless.”
Brian
Smoot
was
promoted
to product
manager, rough
terrain cranes.
Smoot is responsible for rough
terrain cranes, coordination
of product activities and new
product development.
Previously Smoot was a
product specialist. He began his
career at Link-Belt in 2007 as
a part of the product support
organization.
“Brian’s product knowledge,
product development
experience and strong history of
interaction with our distributor
and customer base make
him the logical choice to lead
the ongoing advancement
of our rough terrain cranes,
worldwide,” said Collins.
