INTERMAT
Paris launches
The 856H’s new cab design offers
good visibility to the work tool, as well
as all round the machine. All daily
maintenance checks can be carried
out from ground level, and access to
the engine compartment is made easy
thanks to a forward-tilting hood. Key
maintenance features also include a
hydraulic drive fanwhich canbe reversed
for cleaning, andwater andoil drains that
areplaced together for fastermaintenance
and service.
Having unveiled the first in its range of
E-series articulated dump trucks (ADTs)
at Intermat 2012,
Bell Equipment
will use
this year’s show to take the wraps off the
first prototypes of the largermodels in the range.
Bell and engine partner Mercedes-Benz have gone down
a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) path to meet the latest
emissions requirements on the E-Series. The company’s stand
will feature the prototype B50E 50 tonne capacity truck, which
includes many of the improvements made on the smaller
models, such as the air cleaner being housed under the bonnet
for a cleaner look.
Power comes from a 6-cylinderMercedes-Benz engine, which
now drives a 7-speed Allison transmission. Bell says this gives
an improvement in the ratio steps between gears, for better
performance and fuel burn.
Shantui’s
Intermat stand will feature the company’s SD10YE
andSD13YSdozers aswell as amodifiedversionof theSD16CE.
The hydrostatic SD10YE and SD13YS hydraulic drives from
Rexroth, along with a Stage IIIB Cummins engine on the
SD10YE and a IIIA engine on the SD13YS. Bothmachines also
are equipped with a Power Angle Tilt (PAT) blade, and have
redesigned cabs, with lower noise levels and amore comfortable
environment than their predecessors.
Meanwhile, the SD16CE is a reworked version of Shantui’s
standard 160 hp (120 kW) SD16 dozer,
which the company says it has, “Tailored
tomeet the stringentdemandsofEurope’s
regulations and the high expectations of
Europe’s consumers.” It features a Stage
IIIA Cummins engine and redesigned
excavators in Europe, which have been
updated from the previous series with
Stage IV-compliant engines.
Kobelco says it has reduced operating
costs for these machines compared to
the Generation 9 models with improved
fuel efficiency. For example, the 21 tonne
class SK210LC-10 is said to offer +6.7%
more production in heavy mode at the
same fuel consumption levels as the
Generation 9 equivalent. Kobelco added
that fuel consumption is reduced inNormal andEcomodes.
The company has also looked to improve serviceability, with
easy-to-replace canister-type hydraulic oil return filters and
a new specification air cleaner inner element. New operator
accessible diagnostics on the in-cab monitor have also been
added, as have audiblewarnings for issues such as highhydraulic
oil temperatures and clogged oil filters.
Liugong
will have a focus on its Stage IVmachines at Intermat,
with machines from its H-series wheeled loader and E-series
excavators on display. It will be the first time the H-series
wheeled loaders have been seen outside China, following their
launch onLiugong’s domesticmarket last year.

with a Stage IVCummins QSB6.7 engine, and featuring a ZF
AP3000wet axle andZF 4WG200 transmission.
Terex Trucks, now part of Volvo CE,
said its standwould include the 28
tonne payload TA300 and 38 tonne
payload TA400 (pictured) articulated
dump trucks.
The new 22 tonne EC220E crawler excavator will be on the
Volvo stand, a new Tier 4 Final/Stage IV-compliant machine
replacing the D-Seriesmodel.

Construction
Equipment stand
will include a
new generation
of Tier 4 Final-
compliant crawler
excavators in
the form of the
D series, with
four newmodels
ranging from 25
to 40 tonnes.
Mecalac said it would have its new
12MTX on show, a versatile 9.7 tonne
machine can act as an excavator, a
loader, a forklift and a tool carrier.
Liebherr’s Intermat launcheswill
include additions to its compact
loader range.
