cottHazelton,managing director of IHSGlobal Insight’s
construction andmanufacturing industries practice, will
speak at the 2014 International Construction Economic
Forum (ICEF), presenting forecasts for global, regional and
country-by-country construction growth. Also confirmed is
David Phillips, managing director of specialist consultant and
forecasterOff-HighwayResearch.
Mr Hazelton was one of the highest-rated speakers at the
inaugural ICEF event in Amsterdam, the Netherlands last
year. Mr Phillips meanwhile is recognised as the leading global
authority on international construction equipmentmarkets and
Off-Highway Research is the largest management consultancy
in theworld specialising in this field
Conference details
ICEF will run from 30 to 31 October at the Millennium
Gloucester Hotel in London, UK.The conference, networking
event and awards dinner will focus on core themes for
internationally active construction contractors.
As well as the core audience of executives and seniormanagers
from construction contractors, the programme is also designed
to appeal to a broad group of wider industry stakeholders,
such as providers of professional services to the industry, those
involved in the equipment industry, materials producers,
financiers, projectmanagers and consultants.
The evening of 30 October will also see a gala dinner and
the award of prizes for outstanding performance in the
construction industry. The most sought-after is expected to be
the International ConstructionProject of theYear award, which
will recognise a scheme worth US$ 100 million or more, of
international significance.

ntries are now being invited for the 2014 ICEF awards. The closing date is 30 June,
and thewinnerswill be announced at the ICEF gala dinner on the evening of 30
October.
There are four categories, including the prestigious International ConstructionProject of the
Year, for schemes of global significancewith a value ofmore thanUS$100million. In addition
a further category has been added for projects on amoremodest scale, the International
ConstructionAward for InnovativeSmaller Schemes. This is for constructionprojectsworth
US$100million or less, and is designed to recognise that constructionperformance canbe
improvedwithgains in safety, sustainability and efficiency on any size of project.
There are two ICEF awards recognising advances in the construction equipment sector.
The ICEFConstructionEquipment InnovationAward is for new or cutting-edge constructionmachinery, while the ICEF
ConstructionEquipment Design InnovationAward is for design in equipment components or sub-systems.
