Italy-based Barin has supplied an underbridge
inspection unit to European construction giant
FCC Construcción.
The AB 19/SL is being used by FCC
Construcción’s Bulgarian branch for the
inspection and maintenance of a bridge
crossing the Danube river in Vidim. It has
been mounted on a Scania P380 LB 8x2 truck
chassis, manufactured in Sweden.
As with all Barin’s underbridge inspection
units, a main feature is its ability to operate
using one lane of the highway.The AB 19/
SL also includes a bridge clearance of 4.8 m, a
sidewalk clearance of 4.5 m and a horizontal
underbridge outreach of 19.2 m.
Other specifications include an underbridge
vertical depth of 24.5 m, overhead outreach
of 22 m and a 300 kg maximum platform
capacity. Gross vehicle weight is 32 tonnes.

Custers Hydraulica B.V., the Netherlands sales
agent and distributor for Italian manufacturer CTE,
has delivered a Traccess 230 to the technical
staff of the Dutch Monastery ‘Huize Bijdorp’,
located in Voorschoten, near the city of Den Haag.
Staff at the 17th century Monastery chose the
Traccess 230 because of its working envelope,
ease of use and its ability to carry two people up
to its maximim outreach, said the company. The
Traccess 230 offers 23 m of working height, 12 m
outreach and 200 kg of capacity.
Its small dimensions (78 cm wide and 1.99 m
high) enable the Traccess 230 to move through
most doors and work in narrow spaces. This
is further helped by its ‘Z’ shape boom, which
has zero tailspin. It also has a jib of 2.1 m and a
positive angle of 10°.
Russian sales and rental company LTech has
been commissioned to help prepare the Russian
space rocket Angara for transportation to the
Plesetsk Cosmodrome spaceport.
LTech provided a Snorkel A 46 JE (UpRight
AB46E) electric boom to carry out works in
the space vehicle assembly workshop at the
Khrunichev State Research and Production Space
Centre. The A 46 JE has a working height of 16.1
m and a horizontal outreach of 7.4 m.
Assembly of the Angara rocket is being carried
out in near sterile conditions, and the Snorkel lift
has special non-marking tyres.
