Judging criteria The judging criteria for the categories are: DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES EXTENDED: Wednesday 8 March, 2023 Large Rental Company of the Year (revenues more than €15 million) For a large rental company that has demonstrated an excellent and improving performance in one or more areas of its business in 2022 and early 2023. This could include efforts to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, improvements to customer service, enhancements to employee training, notable fleet investment, financial performance, or new and successful initiatives. Small Rental Company of the Year (revenues less than €15 million) For a small rental company that has demonstrated an excellent and improving performance in one or more areas of its business in 2022 and early 2023. This could include efforts to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, improvements to customer service, enhancements to employee training, notable fleet investment, financial performance, or new and successful initiatives. Rental Product of the Year This award will go to a new product introduced into Europe during the final months of 2021, during 2022, or early 2023 and will recognise a fantastic product that has benefitted rental businesses, either by offering operational benefits (such as improved ease of use or lower cost of maintenance) or new revenue streams (for a new product concept or new application). Judges also take into account sustainability issues, looking at the product over its entire lifecycle, including manufacturing, operating costs, fuel economy, engine emissions and recycling. The award is open to any supplier that is selling its products in Europe. ERA Technical Committee Award: Best Training Materials Adapted to Rental The Award will be assessed by the rental company members of the ERA Technical Committee and is open to all OEMs. (In a change from previous years, OEMs are invited to submit entries for this award.) The award will go to a company that has produced high quality training materials adapted to the needs of the rental industry, and in accordance with the ERA document ‘Training Levels 1 and 2 - ERA Technical Committee’s Recommendations’. Levels 1 and 2 concern simple actions and procedures concerning the maintenance of equipment. ERA Sustainability Committee Award: Best Initiative in People This award will be assessed by the members of the ERA Sustainability Committee and is open to all rental companies and rental associations operating in Europe. The entries will be judged on initiatives, campaigns and other efforts made to attract, recruit and retain talent in the equipment rental industry. Judges will be looking for details of recruitment campaigns and efforts to make rental an attractive industry at all levels of the workforce, including evidence of success. ERA/IRN Rental Person of the Year This award will recognize an outstanding contribution to Europe’s rental industry in 2022 (or in recent times). The award may recognise a significant performance in any one of a number of areas, including safety, sales, operations, fleet management, senior management, etc. Lifetime Achievement Award This award will recognize an outstanding contribution to Europe’s rental industry over a career.
