W
ell, it’s all starting to happen now.
As the run-up to the Intermat
exhibition begins the anticipation
is building. It is a similar storywith theESTA
Awards evening, held on 23 April during
the show in Paris, France. Coming up soon
after that, inMay, is the International Tower
Cranes conference.
Last minute news of what to see at
Intermat is onpage 34 inour stoppress story.
It follows our full show guide in theMarch issue and the preview
in the February issue, giving a comprehensive list of what’s new
in the industry at the biggest show of the year for the sector. News
from all three storieswill be combined intoone handy reference in
a story at:www.khl.com in the cranes and transport sector.
A record number –more than 70 – entries were submitted for
the 2015 ESTAAwards. Details of all the projects shortlisted this
year appear on page 64. Thewinners from this shortlist in each of
the categories will be announced at the dinner inParis, France, on
23April.
The ITC conference returns to London, UK, this year. A
preview outlining the programme, speakers and what to expect
from this unique event appears on page 31. Continuing the
tower crane special issue theme this month is another of special
contributor Heinz-Gert Kessel’s epics. Starting on page 21, Kessel
explains notable design features of luffing jib tower cranes and the
implications for owners and operators. Staying with tower cranes,
our site report this month is from a project using 30 of them in
Turkmenistan. Seepage 45.
Immediately following the ITC conference, in June, will be
publication of the
IC
50, our annual ranking of the world’s largest
crane-owning companies. It marks its 20th year in 2015 as the
original and best. To provide us with the information for this
ranking readers complete an entry form listing details of their
crane fleets and their company. This entry form appears on page
61 and is also available on our website asmentioned earlier. If you
own cranes and are interested to appear in the listing then please
complete and return an entry formbefore 1May2015.
