TheRitchieBros auction of the
Energy Transportation crane
and transport equipment fleet
on25March brought inmore
thanUS$ 54million. It was
Ritchie’s largest single-owner
auction and includedmore
than2,290 lots of cranes,
trucks, trailers and associated
equipment. The sale in
Casper, Wyoming, USA,
included 38 cranes, which
sold formore than $35million,
Ritchie said. Equipment
highlights included a 500 tonne
capacity 2010Liebherr
LTM 1500-8.1wheeledmobile
telescopic crane that went for
$3.35million, making it the
most expensive all terrain
crane sold byRitchieBros.

than 3,000 bidders attended the
unreserved auction, inperson
and on line, from47 countries,

theproject is joint-venture

Moriarty.MaximCraneWorks
has supplied11 tower cranes
for theproject, including
eight luffing jib craneswith
lift capacity classes ranging
from10 to66 tonnes and jib
lengths from50 to75m. The
craneshavebeen erected close
toadjacent structures tomeet
weathervaning restrictions.
Flat top craneson site
include theTerexCTT561/A-20
with jib lengthof 84m.Alsoon
site areSK serieshammerhead
cranes. Themodelshave jib
lengthsup to80mand lift
capacities ranging from20 to32
tonnes. The tower craneshave
been configuredwithunder
hookheightsup to213.4mand
withhook reachup to74.4m
andwill beused to lift tools and
constructionmaterials.
Tohelpmeetwind-load
ratings andgain flexibilitywith
regard to freestanding crane
configurations, a transfermast
isused. RuediVanCoppenolle,
Terex salesmanager tower
cranes, said, “The transfer
masts allowany tower crane
segment tobeusedwith the
hammerhead, flat topor luffing
jib cranedesign.Crews can
mix segments todeliver a
maximum freestanding crane
height of 42.7m,while still
meetingFlorida’s 146mph
wind-load standard.”
