The July issue Picture of the Month was sent in by

Tim Maughan. The picture, which was taken recently during a boat trip around the Port of Kobe, shows
several dockside cranes at the port in Hygo, Japan. A pair of the many dock cranes is engaged in a tandem
lift on a large steel fabrication. The Port of Kobe has a total of 45 gantry cranes.

Ainscough Crane Hire has
appointed
ROBIN RICHARDSON
as its new managing director.
Richardson will take over
from
NEIL PARTRIDGE
who,
after 18 years of working with
Ainscough, will retire. Prior to
joining Ainscough, Richardson
was managing director for
Northern Europe at Aggreko, a
generator rental company. He
has also held senior positions at
Avery Weigh-Tronix.

Alabama, USA-
based Fontaine
Heavy-Haul has
appointed
NEIL
ROBERTSON
as
director of research
and development.
He will report to Randy
McGuire, Fontaine Heavy-Haul
president. Robertson brings to
the role 30 years of experience
in the trailer industry. He
worked in engineering, design,
management and ownership of
trailer manufacturing companies
throughout the UK. After starting
his own trailer business in
Glasgow, Scotland, he emigrated
to the USA in 2007. Fontaine
Heavy-Haul is the low bed and
extendable trailer business unit of
Fontaine Trailer.

Omega Morgan in
the USA has hired
JEFF CARPENTER
as vice president
of operations. Prior to his new
position, Carpenter was vice
president of global operations at
Brooks Automation, Chelmsford,
Massachusetts, USA and Portland,
Oregon. John McCalla, Omega
Morgan president and CEO, said,
“Adding Jeff to Omega Morgan’s
senior leadership team is part
of our strategy to support the
company’s growth and to ensure
the best possible services for
our customers.”

The All Erection & Crane Rental
Family of Companies in the USA
has named
JAMES DOOGAN
as
the new regional
sales manager for
both Central Rent-
A-Crane and Central
Contractors Service.
Doogan has been in the crane
rental industry for more than
20 years and he has worked as
a crane operator. He will serve
both Central brands, reporting
to general managers Ed Kocsis
at RAC and John Martello at
Contractors Service.

Bosch Rexroth has
appointed
ALASTAIR
JOHNSTONE
as
managing director in
the UK. Johnstone
will have business
responsibility for UK locations.
In his previous role Johnstone
was responsible for the
Glenrothes site, Scotland,
where hydraulic motors for
vehicles and plant equipment
were manufactured. The facility
has twice received the Queen’s
Award for Enterprise for
outstanding achievement.
